Dos musicos muy diferentes se vuelven amigos muy cercanos. Austin Moon (Ross Lynch) es un aspirante a cantante extrovertido que se convirtio en una sensacion adolescente en Internet de la noche a la manana. Ally (Laura Marano) Dawson es una timida compositora con miedo escenico. Juntos, son el equipo perfecto. Pero todo buen cantante necesita su manager o representante, y esta es Trish (Raini Rodriguez). Trish no es necesariamente la mejor en mantener un trabajo, pero si es una gran amiga de Ally. El mejor amigo de Austin, Dez (Calum Worthy), por su parte, es un aspirante a director. No pierde oportunidad de filmar los sucesos de sus amigos, ya que le encanta filmar todo lo que pueda. Tiene una relacion complicada con Trish, siendo mitad del tiempo amigos y la otra mitad del tiempo enemigos.
